Did You Know?
· Erode, Tamil Nadu, India- 01
Erode's red soil is so iron-rich that the curcumin yield jumps when growers add nothing but sun and water — fertiliser actually hurts the rhizome.
- 02
Indian temples have used Erode haldi in ritual since at least the 12th century — the earliest written reference appears in a Chola inscription.
- 03
The "boiling" stage of curing is timed by the hiss of escaping steam, not a clock — every grower learns to read the sound by ear.
From the soil to your kitchen
Erode is the spiritual home of Indian turmeric — its red soil, hot days, and cool nights produce a rhizome with curcumin concentrations the rest of the world tries to imitate. We work with a small federation of growers along the Bhavani river, who plant in March and harvest the following January. The rhizomes are washed, boiled briefly to set the colour, sun-cured for ten days on cane mats, and brought to our Ratlam stone-mill for grinding. The final powder has the deep saffron hue, faint citrus aroma, and bitter-warm finish that ordinary commodity haldi has long since lost.

Purity Checklist
Curcumin Above 4%
Independent batch testing confirms curcumin content of 4.2–4.8% — more than double the FSSAI minimum.
No Lead Chromate, Ever
A scourge of cheap haldi is yellow lead-chromate adulteration. We test every batch for heavy metals.
Single-Origin Erode
No blending across regions. The provenance of every gram is traceable to its growing federation.
Stone-Ground in Small Batches
Industrial pulverisers run hot enough to burn off curcumin. Our stone-mill never crosses 38°C.
